I believe all students can learn mathematics and apply the concepts to real life provided they are equipped with a firm mathematical foundation and have the willingness to learn. I have more than 25 years teaching/tutoring mathematics to students ranging from middle school to the college level. My approach is to meet the student at their level of understanding and use a variety of teaching models to move them to a higher level. I use drawings, models, algorithms, computers, graphing calculators, interactive whiteboards and manipulatives to achieve this goal. In tutoring sessions, I believe it is imperative that students see and understand each step in the problem solving process to gain insight. My job ultimately is to produce an independent learner that can function in a competitive global market. Welcome to the world of mathematics!
