About Tennis
The sport of tennis is one of the most popular racquet-based sports in the world today. While it is considered one of the most popular spectator sports to watch of television and is widely followed at its top tournaments and the Olympics, it is also a sport that many people enjoy playing, due to its competitive nature and excellent pace. The game is played on a court, usually made of clay or very short grass, and a net that players must hit the ball over divides each side. The object is to keep the ball inbound on the opponent’s side without giving the opponent the chance to return the shot. Tennis is scored by a series of short games called “sets.” The winner of the majority of sets win a “match,” and the majority winner of matches win the “game.” Tennis was originally developed in the 19th century by upper-class society, and as a result, it is often seen as a country club game. However, in recently years, communities have made tennis courts accessible to the public, and it has become more and more popular. Therefore, for those who wish how to learn to play the sport of tennis, working one-one-one with a tennis tutor can be a tremendous advantage.
