Hi!

My name is Hayley. I have worked with many children in the past and have gotten very good results. I am very patient and understanding seeing as how I was also once struggling in school. I have found that one of the most important things in understanding school and the work expected of students is organization, with organization one will not feel as they are missing anything and will know exactly which task to start and follow up with as well as what exactly is on their plate. After organization, another important factor is a comfortable and quiet working area so that there are no distractions or pressure to complete or rush through work/assignments. As a tutor, I like to start with those elements; first organization, then a calm working environment. Following that, I like to talk to the student and get them not only confortable with me but also my ability to help them learn what they may feel is impossible to grasp. I hope we are a perfect fit for one another and I can make learning fun rather than such a struggle =)

I would say from experience you should teach them to read right away. Not exactly TEACH them but by reading to them and helping them to associate words ...
