Hi, my name is Tony Pong. I graduated from the University of Florida with a mathematics degree in 2 years. I grew up learning math at a young age since my mom is a mathematics teacher and I have grown up helping her tutor kids. I believe that anyone can learn math, most people get frustrated because they simply had a bad teacher and got lost during the class. In school, you are taught to do math under a certain process with some exceptions. Then later in schooling, you are taught those exceptions which just confuses the student. Since math builds upon itself, by missing one foundation building block one can be lost in all future maths. I believe that no one should try to memorize formulas or directions in math, instead math should be taught to understand why and where things come from. That way, you have a more fundamental understanding of the concept and do not have to memorize anything. I also enjoy giving out riddles as I think it trains a similar part of the brain.
