A graduate of Adelphi University, I hold my MS in Childhood Special Education in Inclusive Settings and am dually-certified to teach General Elementary Education and Special Education, Grades 1-6. Currently, I work as a teacher/tutor with Special Education and General Education students, Grades K-12. I have a remarkable ability to deliver one-on-one differentiated instruction focused on learning and skills development. Through the use of manipulatives, I provide multi-sensory interactive opportunities for students. With my strong commitment to enhancing and supporting the education of a child, I have a proven history of reliability, accountability and responsibility.

I have taught in Collaborative Team Teaching and Self-Contained settings (Grades 1, 3, 4, and 5), where I adapted and modified instruction to meet the diverse learners in my classroom. This included providing individual, small group and whole class instruction for students with learning disabilities and behavioral/emotional disturbances. I value students’ individuality and strive to meet their needs by using differentiated instruction techniques, which included hands-on activities and cooperative learning groups. I strongly believe in implementing an effective behavior management system in my classroom. I feel that this is a necessity in order to promote a positive classroom environment that is conducive to motivation and learning.

I have also worked as a Social Worker gaining valuable skills including negotiation strategies, team collaboration, assessment skills and cultural awareness. My desire to assist children with academic, social and emotional growth in a stimulating atmosphere that is adaptive to their diverse needs led me to the teaching profession.
