Special Needs: ?
Hi, I go by Ade (Ah-day). I am a first generation Nigerian American. My father moved to the states to study pharmacy. He owns his own pharmacy in which my mother works as the technician. Hence, working hard and perseverence were instilled in me from my youth on. On the flip-side, I've learned that balance is essential to having a meaningful life. So I make certain that I have time for recreation. After all, if you work hard you deserve to play hard (within reason, don't do anything silly).
As for tutoring, I have been involved in volunteer teaching since I was a child. I have worked with both children and adults who have mental disabilities and have been able to adapt to their needs. My approach is allows me to be flexible. I understand that the needs of each student is different, so it is counter productive to force a rigid "lesson plan" on each student. Rather I prepare a flexible outline that allows me to take the lead if necessary but yeild to the student when he wants to take a different approach.
