Hello! My name is Jaclyn DeVito and I am currently a first grade teacher in Northeast Philadelphia. I have been teaching first grade for four years, and I love every second of it! Before landing my permanent positon, I substituted for a few years. Through this experience, I was able to teach every grade PreK-8 for a period of time. I can honestly say I enjoyed my time in each grade. I was the director of an after school program for 6 years, and assisted students with their homework on a daily basis. While tutoring I like to make learning fun! I keep the individual child's needs in mind, and figure out what I can do to help each particular child learn in a way that is best for them. I use a variety of learning approaches from hands on activities, to songs and rhymes, etc.
