Hello,

My name is Michelle and I graduated from NYU 2 years ago with a masters dual degree in early childhood education and special education. Since graduating I have worked in a Montessori school for a year, and then branched out in my career to do what I am doing now. I am currently working as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher primarily in the manhattan borough. Prior to graduation, I had student teaching experiences working in a variety of classrooms - including a Reggio Emilia setting, and a district 75 school with kindergarteners that were all on the spectrum. I have also had experience tutoring children up to the 2nd graded. I believe in creating a fun learning environment, and first learning about the child to then cater my lesson plans to them. I believe each child has their own unique style of learning, and once that is discovered and combined with things they are innately interested in and enjoy, that is when they will learn best.

I am fully licensed in early childhood education in NY, having passed all 4 state exams, including my certification in special education. I also successfully completed the bilingual extension exam for Spanish - I am fully bilingual for speaking and writing in both languages.

I am available for work Monday-Friday, any time starting at 2pm.
