Hello Parents: My name is Mayellyn Rodriguez, I am currently a student at Bronx Community College in Bronx, NY. I am majoring in Education.I worked in a after school program in Manhattan for 3 years where i was the head teacher for a class of 20 students. Now, I have been tutoring for the past 4 years, and i love it!! providing private tutoring at home. I love to be able to help the next generation with advancing and being that star student everyone wish to be. As a tutor you need to find out what the issue is that is causing the need for tutoring. Sometimes it is obvious, like a failing grade, and sometimes it is not as easy to pinpoint, like a motivation issue, or test anxiety. As a tutor, I help the student reach his or her goals by overcoming whatever the issue is. This work may include talking with the student about the issues he/she is having, re-explaining topics or concepts that were covered in class, working on homework together, helping develop sound study skills and time management skills, giving extra practice, and teaching the student how to study for tests this is exactly what my goal is.
