Special Needs: ?
Experience: 12 years of teaching/tutoring of students of all ages in 1 on 1 as well as classroom basis.
Special needs students: For the last seven years I was responsible for the success of an Asperger's Syndrome student on both the undergraduate and graduate level at the Boston Conservatory. My work focused on liberal arts, essay writing and communication as well as musical subjects that he studied. In addition, we worked on his work ethics, organization etc. I also helped him deal with general life issues, by listening and counseling, and I even supervised his first job applications.
ESL: As a European native, my language skills are excellent; I function professionally in two languages. In addition, I'm necessarily more attuned to specific English language issues, as I had to work through them myself in a highly structured manner when I initially started learning English in Great Britain at the age of seven.
Primarily working with students on Music (piano, theory, counterpoint, ear training), Essay Writing and Organizational/Study Skills.
Currently teaching at: Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Piano Lab, Boston University School of Music.
The marvelous adventure of being alive depends entirely upon the atmosphere that each of us creates, by our enthusiasm, our conviction and understanding that to pursue what one greatly cherishes is a unique privilege in life. I myself strive daily to rekindle and maintain that original, ineffable impulse that brought me initially to music. I also try to impart that conviction to my students, teaching them to work hard, love what they do and take responsibility for their learning.
