Special Needs: ?
I've taught in public, charter, and private schools in San Diego, Compton, and Los Angeles. I've tutored a few after-school classes in reading too, to various grades 1-6.
In a normal classroom of 20 or so students, a teacher, after they take roll and answer a few questions, has only 3 minutes at most for each and every student. A one-on-one or small group tutoring is more effective and easier for both students and teacher.
There's more time to craft the lesson to fit the needs and learning styles of each particular student. By focusing on one student at a time, the light of knowledge becomes brighter.
A good tutor, especially one who's taught in public school and knows the state standards cannot help but be more effective.
