In the past 4-year’s study at the City University of New York at Queens College, I have gained a thorough understanding in the national and New York State mathematics standards.I completed the requirements for NY State Initial Certification, Mathematics, Grades 7-12. I was accepted to the TIME 2000 program and the Alfred Harcourt Foundation fully. For every semester, I was placed in a different public school and assisted the mathematics teachers in the classrooms, as well as tutoring the students after school. I conducted an independent research project with a Queens College mathematics education professor.My horizons have expanded significantly by observing exceptional math educators and attending professional workshops and conferences. Integrating my knowledge and my experiences, I believe that I am able make a valuable contribution to both the school and students.
