A 45 year old native speaker of English, I have taught English and history extensively, both in private lessons and in school-based settings. With over 10 years experience tutoring SAT/ACT and AP US/Euro history, I can help your child maximize their potential when studying, preparing and taking the tests.

In addition, I have taught high school and English composition and literature, including 5 years teaching composition at the University of California, Irvine. If your child is having trouble with writing in school, then let me help you get them to where they need to be. Whether it's learning the Shaffer Paragraph Method, or learning to analyze and write about literature and history, I can give your student the tools to succeed.

For the hourly rate, I have given my base rate for junior high students. Here is a breakdown of how I charge:

Junior high 7th-8th grade: $50 per hour

High School writing/English/History: $60 per hour

SAT/ACT/AP Preparation: $80 per hour
