Tutor in Hialeah, FL 33015

I am currently a Mathematics Education major at FIU, with a goal of becoming a high school mathematics teacher. I have had experience tutoring younger students and even fellow classmates since my middle school years; I have a passion for teaching because I know I can help those who are struggling by giving them the confidence that they need. I worked at a private tutoring service for over a year, where I helped children K -12 and even college students, in various subjects: Homework Assistance, Reading, Math, ACT, SAT, and College Prep.

Many students tend to believe that they are not smart enough for the material, or that it is too difficult, when many of them only need a different presentation of the material. I tend to focus on their shortcomings and build on those, for it will eventually lead to improvement in other areas. I also believe in tutoring with theory and then supplementing them with examples, rather than teach solely by examples.

I like to stress to students the importance of organization and responsibility, specifically time management and how to prioritize. These skills will help them become better students, as well as become more successful in any of their future endeavors. I would love for students to heed my advice even after they do not require my services any longer for their personal benefit. Being a role model to the students is something that I particularly enjoy and so I always express legitimate concern in a student's academic career. :)
