I am a high school senior aspiring to be a high school English teacher. My teaching methods are quite simple and straight-forward. Of course the academic part to it must be done first, but I also like to connect with my students on a personal level. I can be a tutor and a friend within professional boundaries. I believe that as a teacher/tutor, the students are not the only learners. Every experience with every student is a learning experience for myself. I look forward to making a difference in someone's life! Last summer, I completed a legal internship at a law firm. That allowed me to strengthen my communication and general people skills. I also tutored two little girls for a short period of time, so I have experience with young children. I'm a teenager myself so clearly, I have plenty of first hand and personal experience with young adults. Currently, I am a Volunteer Teacher Aide at Excelsior Elementary School for GGUSD. I work in a small classroom twice a week with children from grade 4-6. Specifically, I work with 1 special needs child and 3 English Language Learners. I am 100% fluent in Vietnamese. In addition to my experiences in the community, I am also a tutor in my own home! I have tutored from my sister, to my cousin, to my cousin's cousin for the past 3 years. I have applied to 8 universities and I have received early acceptance from California State University, Fullerton. My first choice in schools is UC Berkeley, and my second is UC San Diego. Please don't hesitate to contact if you have any more questions or concerns!
