I have a collaborative approach to tutoring. When we first meet, I'd like to to first discuss your goals and any problem areas you may have. It's helpful to be as detailed as possible with this information as it will help guide our work together. I will ask to review some of your assignments and tests, particularly anything you thought gave you some trouble. I will ask some questions to further get an idea of where we need to focus our efforts, then I will lay out a tentative plan of action, so we both know where we are headed and we go from there, modifying our strategy as needed.

I believe that it is my job is to help you not only identify and improve any areas of deficit you might have in a particular subject, but also to teach you general study skills to approach any given subject with more confidence.

I have 8 years of higher education experience, plenty of time to hone many of the study skills I can pass on to my students. I firmly believe that to best learn one has got to have some fun with the material, so I try to keep things light. I have taught several summer classes to high school students and have extensive one-on-one tutoring experience in the field of Chemistry and Mathematics. My current work in the medical field has taught me how to think on my feet and be an effective motivator.
