In addition to experience as a classroom teacher and a BA in Education, I am a Master Teacher of The Riggs Method...a multi-sensory phonics program teaching 71 phonograms and 29 spelling rules. I also incorporate many Montessori instructional materials as well as "whole language" methodologies to customize "direct instruction" . In addition, I teach Latin and Greek roots as a means of increasing vocabulary skills. I try to make this fun and meaningful for all ages and am usually quite successful! I have 25 years of teaching experience.
