For over three academic years at OSU I worked for the independent student newspaper, The Daily Barometer, serving as a featured columnist, beat reporter for football, men's basketball, baseball and softball. My twice weekly sports column and several of my reports or features were recognized for their excellence by the Oregon Newspaper Publisher's Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. After college, I worked briefly for two weekly newspapers - The Lake Oswego Review and The West Linn Tidings, before turning primarily to freelance work.

Over the last few years writing has become more of a hobby than an occupation, but I'm eager to transition back into writing as a profession. I strongly believe that assisting students to improve their writing techniques and content in general is the best way for me to continue to improve as a writer.
