Special Needs: ?
I am a dual Master level certified educator of early childhood NB-4th grade. I hail from a family of educators ranging from early childhood through post secondary. My 1'st Masters is in Education, with a specialty in instructional design for online learners. Such a specialty required me to amass an understanding of how the brain works and learning occurs. This understanding has lent to the success of my teaching methodologies. I am always motivated to learn new things and seek to instill my students with this same motivation. I have 5 years teaching experience in a one-to-one student setting. I do not possess a lot of classroom experience, for I have preferred to work one-on-one and face to face with students to ensure they understand and "get it." My teaching philosophy hinges on the belief that all children can learn when their learning styles are understood and acknowledged. Curriculum should always be multi-sensory in presentation and representation. Differentiation in instruction is a necessity for student success. I utilize a variety of real life materials and circumstances for teaching. I enjoy presenting learning in a way that you can see, touch, feel and hear it; this ensures comprehension and extended learning. My lessons are quite creative and crafty and I look forward to the opportunity to work with diverse learners with varying learning needs. I have worked with Esol learners(adult/children) and those with mild learning disabilities and welcome challenges.
