About Plano, TX
Named by the locals after the Spanish word for “flat,” the city of Plano, Texas is a wealthy northern suburb of its larger neighbor, Dallas. Even though it is only a suburb, lacking a large, metropolitan center, the sheer population density of over 220,000 residents ranks it as the 74th largest city by population in the United States. Believe it or not, this suburban city has a larger populace than traditional cities such as Rochester, NY or Richmond, VA. This entire region is known as the Metroplex, since it encompasses Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington, all of which are included in the 100 largest cities in America.
In spite of its suburban identity, the city is home to several corporate giants, such as Ericsson Inc, Perot Systems, Electronic Data Systems, Frito-Lay, Cinemark Theatres, and UGS. Plano is also known as a leader in the development of semiconductors and telecommunications technology. The robust commercial presence in the city attracts a large number of business travelers: over 80% of all travelers to Plano are businesspeople. CNN Money Magazine has also honored the city as the 11th best place to live in the United States, based on excellent schools, a strong economy, and good-quality living. The city of Plano has also been voted the wealthiest city in America, with a median family income of $106,335. About Middle School Vocabulary
While vocabulary is a subject that is concentrated on intensely at the elementary school level, middle school English teachers also continue to expose students to new and more sophisticated vocabulary throughout the four years of middle school. Because writing research and term papers becomes more and more of a focus in middle school, teachers seek to improve students’ grasp of the written language. The more expansive a student’s vocabulary becomes, the better chance they have to express themselves eloquently in their writing.
Studying vocabulary at the middle school level also allows students to improve their reading comprehension levels. Because the kind of reading and literature middle students are exposed to is more complex and sophisticated, a strong grasp of middle school-level vocabulary will allow students to better comprehend what they are reading. As a result, many students find it helpful to work one-on-one with a vocabulary tutor.
Whether you are a young child, a teenager, a university student, or a professional adult and are seeking help in vocabulary, our tutors can assist you.
