About Plano, TX
Named by the locals after the Spanish word for “flat,” the city of Plano, Texas is a wealthy northern suburb of its larger neighbor, Dallas. Even though it is only a suburb, lacking a large, metropolitan center, the sheer population density of over 220,000 residents ranks it as the 74th largest city by population in the United States. Believe it or not, this suburban city has a larger populace than traditional cities such as Rochester, NY or Richmond, VA. This entire region is known as the Metroplex, since it encompasses Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington, all of which are included in the 100 largest cities in America.
In spite of its suburban identity, the city is home to several corporate giants, such as Ericsson Inc, Perot Systems, Electronic Data Systems, Frito-Lay, Cinemark Theatres, and UGS. Plano is also known as a leader in the development of semiconductors and telecommunications technology. The robust commercial presence in the city attracts a large number of business travelers: over 80% of all travelers to Plano are businesspeople. CNN Money Magazine has also honored the city as the 11th best place to live in the United States, based on excellent schools, a strong economy, and good-quality living. The city of Plano has also been voted the wealthiest city in America, with a median family income of $106,335. About French
The French language is considered to be one of the most beautiful languages in the world. A descendent of Latin, is part of a set of European languages known as Romance Languages, which also includes Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. It is also one of the most widely spokes languages in the world, with 130 million people speaking it natively and 600 million people speaking it as a second language. The popularity of the language worldwide is the result of the fact that France was once the most important international language in the world for politics and trade. In addition, France colonized many countries in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean, and as a result, the native people of those countries picked up the language. Today, it is one of the most popular languages to learn in America.
When learning French, a great of emphasis must be placed on learning how to pronounce the language, as French possesses a set of nuanced phonetic rules that, if pronounced incorrectly, can confuse the listener. In addition, a student of French must learn vocabulary, grammar, syntax, conjugation, word order, and expressions. Although classes in French are usually available beginning at the high school level in America and continue on through college, it is valuable to work with a one-on-one tutor, as having the opportunity to practice speaking the language with a native or fluent speaker will greatly improve one’s accent and delivery of the spoken aspect of the language.
