About Pasadena, TX
The city of Pasadena, Texas is located on the Gulf of Mexico. The city’s founder, John H. Burnett, who thought that the land area looked similar to its California counterpart, flowing with flowers and lush floral landscapes, named Pasadena after Pasadena, California. In fact, the word “Pasadena” in Spanish is loosely translated as “land of flowers.” The city is often considered to be the birthplace of the state of Texas, since one of the most decisive battles in the Texas Revolution was fought near the location of Pasadena, with Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna being captured at nearby “Vince’s Bayou.” To this day, the city of Pasadena, Texas features several popular historical landmarks and attractions within the city that mark this historical moment.
Pasadena, Texas’ nickname is "Strawberry Capitol," due to its optimal farmland from growing berries.
