About CLEP Test

 

The College Level Examination Program, also known as the CLEP Exam, is a comprehensive set of college level exams that allows students to demonstrate their knowledge level gained from course work, independent study, cultural pursuits, travel, special interests, military service schools, and professional development. Offered by the College Board, many colleges and universities in the United States and Europe will actually grant college credit for taking the exams. Each exam usually takes 90 minutes and covers a wide array of study fields and subjects, such as business, composition and literature, foreign languages, history, social sciences, science, and mathematics. The exams are administered at exam centers throughout the U.S. and cost between $15-20 per exam, and are free for military personnel. The amount of credits granted per CLEP exam is based on the test-takers score and the criteria of a particular university.
