About Everett, WA
Located just 25 miles north of Seattle, the city of Everett is the sixth largest city by population in the state of Washington, with a population of 101,800 residents. In 2002, the city of Everett was given the coveted All-America City Award, an award given to only ten cities each year that “recognizes communities whose citizens work together to identify and tackle community-wide challenges and achieve uncommon results.” The city is located on the Port Gardner Peninsula on the Port Gardner Bay and the Snohomish River. As a result of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, Everett’s major economic focus is its maritime community. The city has an active port and is one of the largest transportation hubs on the west coast. The city’s marina is also the second largest on the west coast. Everett is also home to a major U.N. Naval Port, the Naval Station Everett, which was opened in 1992 and is home to the USS Abraham Lincoln, a major aircraft carrier. The waterfront of the city is also part of the city’s picturesque charm.
The city of Everett is comprised of several neighborhoods. Some of them include Bayside, Delta, Cascade View, Lowell, Holly, Clacier View, Port Gardner, Riverside, Silver Lake, and South Forest Park among others.
