About El Monte, CA
The city of El Monte is the 44th largest city in the state of California and one of the larger suburban communities is Los Angeles County, with a population of 115,965 residents. The city is often referred to as “The End of the Santa Fe Trail” and its official slogan is “Welcome to Friendly El Monte,” a campy and decidedly Los Angeles-styled slogan.
Though Spanish missionaries passed through the region of El Monte as early as the 1770s, the first settlers began to live in the region in 1849, with an official settlement. Although it is unclear if the famed Santa Fe Trail actually ended in El Monte, it is clear that the trail passed through where the modern-day now stands. Although white settlers, explorers, and pioneers from the east originally founded the city, the city has now become decidedly Latino both in its demographics and culture. The name “El Monte” does not mean “the Mount” or “The Mountain” in modern Spanish, but rather an older connotation, loosely translated as “the wooded place.”
Some of the towns and cities that surround the city of El Monte include: Los Angeles, Whittier, Maywood, Alhambra, Arcadia, Azusa, La Habra, Lakewood, Norwalk, Paramount, Compton, Beverly Hills, and South San Gabriel.

About Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful yet user-friendly graphical presentation program developed by Microsoft. It is included in the popular Microsoft Office program bundle, and is available for both PC and Mac operating systems. PowerPoint is a unique program – it was the first of its kind to be made available to the public, and has found useful application in the world of business, education, training, and other sectors where presentation is an important aspect. Whereas pre-computer presentations involved poster boards and easels, PowerPoint allows users to create dynamic, graphics-based digital presentations that combine content with provocative fonts, colors, animation, movement, sound, digital photos and imagines, and video. Several computer hardware attachments allow PowerPoint to be projected up onto a movie screen, and wireless pointer devices allow the presenter to move back and forth in the presentation and access certain elements of the screen. The interface of PowerPoint is much like creating a slideshow on a slide projector.
Although the PowerPoint software is known to be very user-friendly, some people find it difficult at first to grasp the technology. As a result, some users find it helpful to work one-on-one with a qualified Microsoft PowerPoint tutor, who can show tem exactly how the program works.
