A good tutor, first and foremost, should have a good fit for you personally as a learning style. People may charge exorbitant rates, but that's because they do well in high-pressured situations. An individual should look for a tutor that meshes well with their current learning curve. Just because one has a different price point or educational background may not mean that they will understand where you come from.
