About Springfield, MA

Known by its nickname as “The City of Homes,” Springfield, Massachusetts is the third largest city in the state, with a population of 154,082 residents. Located on the beautiful Connecticut River, the city of Springfield is actually known to be the first city in the entire United States to be called “Springfield,” which is why many people refer to the city by its other nickname, the “City of Firsts.” In addition, Springfield, Massachusetts is also the largest city by population in the United States with that name.
