I like math and science. I like thinking about them a lot. Tutoring is fun because often understanding is gleaned in the re-explaining of material. I think it is fascinating to come up with different ways to think about these abstract subjects in order to both make them interesting and understandable. My approach usually tries to explain things at their most basic level or at the level I think it is already understood. I like to start with a long detailed example and then see what my student understands by having them do a similar problem.

I tutored math a lot in college. I worked with a lot of ESL students so I am experienced with working around possible language barriers.
