I earned my Ph.D. in Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry from The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2013. I earned my B.S. in Chemistry along with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Washington (Seattle) in 2007. Between undergraduate and graduate school I spent two years working as an analytical and R&D chemist and outside sales representative to industries such as pulp & paper, petroleum, and waste water treatment.

Throughout my time as an undergraduate student I spent time tutoring students in chemistry and mathematics. As a graduate student and post-doctoral researcher I have been known for my strong academic performance and my willingness and ability to train and assist other students. I have also won several prestigious awards that recognize my successful research and impressive academics. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and love of chemistry and science with learners of all ages and backgrounds. I believe strongly that scientific literacy is a great benefit to each individual as well as society as a whole.
