I majored in Chinese at Middlebury College, and I earned my post-graduate certificate in Chinese and American Studies at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China. I took the new HSK (汉语水平考试) this past summer and earned a level 5 out of 6. I have been studying French since I was 7 years old, and I split my junior year at Middlebury between Hangzhou, China and Paris, France.
I'm an experienced tutor, having tutored American students in Chinese, Chinese students in English, and American students in French. I understand that Chinese can be a very challenging language for native English speakers, and my first-hand experience learning the subject has made me a patient and effective teacher. French grammar can be complex and frustrating, but there are tricks to the trade that I'm willing to divulge! I’m passionate about languages, so I always love the opportunity to help others find the same enjoyment in language that I have.
