I am a current graduate student in English Education. I am a very experienced tutor with a part-time or freelance career spanning from 2005-present. I like to have a consultation session with new students to discuss their strengths and weaknesses, goals, and an overview of my style. It is also helpful to bring a writing sample with you for me to assess your level of need. I work with students at a pace that challenges them, yet is comfortable as well. I find that it is helpful to talk students through their studies step-by-step and ask them questions so that they can learn the skills to be effective readers and writers. If research papers are your animal, then I will meet with you in a public library to give tips on how to find the best information, how to pull out the relevant parts of texts, how to organize a paper plan, and how to execute an effective paper. If you have a particular book that's swallowing you whole, then we will read it together and I will break it down in a way that you can understand. I can work with students on many different levels and will personally tailor lessons in order to boost their skills and confidence.
