Special Needs: ?
I have spent the majority of my adult life exploring biology, in the laboratory, in the classroom--where I have amassed over 150 undergraduate and graduate credit hours in the biological sciences--and in nature, as I spend the majority of my free time hiking and camping. I have worked in a variety of research laboratories studying genetics, and cellular, molecular and microbiology.
Recently I have being feeling an overwhelming urge to share the knowledge and passion that almost 20 years of academic work have given me. I am in the process of earning a fellowship to teach high school biology in high need areas, and while I'm only working part time at the moment--as a research assistant at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute-Janelia Farms--I have time to explore education through individual instruction.
I am a warm and friendly individual with a very personable demeanor, and I have a passion for science and learning. Although I have an extensive education in biology I don't have a lot of experience teaching. Therefore, hourly rates are negotiable.
