Hello, thanks for reading about me! It's fantastic to be back in Pennsylvania where I was born and raised. I had the wonderful opportunity to live, teach, and tutor Language Arts both at the intensive and higher levels in Southern California for five years. While living in CA I obtained my master's degree in Reading/Language Arts graduating Summa Cum Laude and my English as a Second Language K-12 credential. Gaining that education made me understand the intricacies of reading, thereby enabling me to expand my repertoire and help my students comprehension and writing levels rise at a much quicker pace. My teaching credentials include Reading Specialist K-12, English 7-12 and ESL as well.
Altogether, I have taught Reading, English and Test Prep. courses in secondary schools for nine years; yet, I've always made time to tutor after school. At the end of the school day both in CA and in PA I provided one on one English and Math instruction to many home-bound students. I've also worked as an Independent Studies instructor, helping students one on one with in all their coursework while preparing them for the SAT's and state standardized tests. While I enjoyed teaching all of it, the best part came from seeing instant improvement in my students while tutoring them in reading and writing.
Although my time in California filled me with more experience and made me the great teacher/tutor I am today, it was time to return back to PA in order to expand my career here. I currently teach 10-12th grade remedial Reading and English, college reading courses at a local community college, and regularly tutor in reading, writing, test-preparation and all elementary subject areas. I've taught a semester long SAT prep course at a local high school as well. Throughout the years, I've successfully assisted people of all ages strengthen their reading, writing, math and study skills; so I'm confident I can help you as well.
I look forward to working with you.
