I am an experienced math teacher with eight years of teaching and tutoring experience. I am certified to teach secondary math in California now. I taught seventh grade for seven years in Omaha, NE, where I served on both math and history professional learning communities. Last year, I taught seventh and eighth grade math at Aurora Academy Charter School in Aurora, CO. Aurora Academy follows the Core Knowledge Curriculum, which encompasses Saxon Math. During my time at Aurora Academy, I worked closely with the other middle school math and science teachers on a collaborative learning team, identifying areas of weakness from test data and implementing new strategies to improve on these areas. I also developed Learner Success Plans to help struggling students improve on their performance and behavior in the classroom. I believe that it's essential to engage students in their learning.

I currently tutor college-aged autistic students at College Living Experience in Costa Mesa, CA. I’ve tutored and advised students working on improving their math skills as well as students taking community college classes at Orange Coast Community College. This has given me invaluable experience assisting students with disabilities.

I'd love the opportunity to work with students who need additional help with math, whether it be homework, test prep, or just help with a difficult concept. Elementary-level math up through Algebra II are my areas of expertise.
