Hi my name is Jake. I just graduated from Tufts and I am living in the Somerville area. I am originally from Westchester New York. I have been tutoring high school and middle school students on and off over the past few years. Often times I am asked to help students prepare for the SAT's, Advanced Placement (AP) Exams, and other types of entrance exams. I have also helped students learn organizational and study skills that have more universal applicability. As far as my tutoring style is concerned, I am a very big advocate of exercises and repetition in order to drive a concept home. It is one thing to read about a concept in a book. It is another to actually write an essay about the concept or do a timed mini math test. I have a very flexible schedule and I have a car so travel is not a problem for me.
