Hello there, I am an expert in languages and essay writings, especially college and grant application essays. I prefer to tutor ambitious high school/middle school students with an eye of getting into top universities as well as college students who are looking forward to advance into either graduate school or pass the grade into the real world.
I just graduated from University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in English and French with a GPA of 3.87, dean's list, currently waiting for decisions of Ph.D programs and law schools. In the past I have won multiple national as well as school wide scholarships. I am a native speaker in Mandarin/English and advanced in French.
I have tutoring experiences with middle school, high school, and adult age students in subjects such as test preparation, SAT math, and social sciences. My tutoring philosophy is result-orientated with a clean record of excellence. This past year, I have risen a middle school aged client's grade from D average to straight As. I enjoy very much the process of having my clients succeed in whatever they do.
If you are looking forward for Chinese language tutoring, I charge an hourly rate dependent on your level of fluency and your age. A writing and speaking test will be administered to figure out your level. Normally it is very easy for younger students to acquire the language.
If you are looking forward for advice on application essays or college planning, don't wait. I am experienced in Fulbright application and national scholarships. I have in the past advised numerous students in graduate school applications, and last year my clients have gotten offers from Ph.D program in economics in Berkeley, Columbia, and UMCP, and Ph.D program in computer science to Brandeis and Worcester Polytechnic This year, my early-decision clients have received offers from numerous extremely competitive universities such as Michigan State and George Washington.
