I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia for the first ten years of my life. In the midst of my most precious growing years, I moved to Juneau, Alaska with my mother and established a new life in a cold, but gorgeous winter wonderland. I've remained very close to my family in Colombia until this day, and spent many years writing letters and emails and saving money to visit whenever I could. This has helped me advance and preserve my first language to a very proficient level.
Upon graduating from high school, I felt a desire to leave and find myself in a new place and out of my comfort zone. I lived in Angers, France for a year and half and indulged in the richness of the language, cuisine and traditions while I pursued my studies and established a new life.
I am now in Portland, Oregon to pursue a degree in international studies and learn new languages, such as Arabic.
I am very open minded and have tutored kids of all ages through the years. I love sharing my experiences, motivating and learning from others.
I believe little steps take you farther then skipping through things and not understanding the in betweens. I would consider to be very conversational and work well with people who learn easiest with images and experiences.
