Hello,

My name is Carly and I am 26 years old and I live in Happy Valley with my husband, our pug, and our cat. I grew up in Los Angeles but attended the University of Oregon for my undergraduate and graduate studies.

I decided to move to Portland after college thinking it would be great to live in a new city. Since graduation, I have worked in many different classroom environments. I worked in a therapeutic preschool with children ages 3-6, a speech therapy group for children ages 4-5, a social skills class with children ages 3-6, a class with children with different disabilities (Down Syndrome, Autism, Aspergers, etc), and a therapeutic primary school with students ages 6-16. I also subbed in many different elementary schools in grades k-5.

I have experience with many different curriculum such as Reading Mastery, Open Court, Treasures, Saxon Math, etc. I have also worked in schools that use Positive Behavior Supports, so I highly value classroom management. Coming into ones home I understand there might be rules in place- so working with you and making sure we are always on the same page is something I find important when tutoring.

In my free time I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with family, friends, and my pets.
