I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education and a minor in Art History. I have experience with hands-on teaching K-12 art classes, leading various physical and educational camps and working with the public and various communities teaching art courses to all ages from early childhood to adults. I am confident in my ability to be a valuable asset as a tutor and a contributor to the learning process of every student. I am a hard worker, responsible, driven and dedicated to teaching. Art is my lifelong passion. I started my teaching journey leading elementary camps after school and in the summers incorporating multiple art projects and physical activity all throughout my high school career. When I entered college, I chose education as a profession and captured the techniques of teaching. I volunteered with elementary and intermediate students and the Boys and Girls Club to gain more experience teaching. In addition, I worked at Challenge to Excellence education camp and coordinated the art portion during a summer for high school students. My student teaching was completed at two high schools, two intermediate schools and three elementary schools. After graduating from SIU, I was hired as the pilot employee of a new business called Vino van Gogh, where I am the lead teacher and creative artist responsible for teaching adults how to paint in a public setting. Currently, I am employed at Chesterbrook Academy where I am the lead teacher for intermediate early childhood students. My responsibilities include lesson planning and extracurricular activities for a Pre-K 1 classroom. Inspiring and motivating students is one of my greatest strengths. I actively capture their attention by incorporating a variety of enjoyable activities and cooperative learning projects correlating within a core curriculum. I am open minded, reliable, organized in promoting art with students.
