I am an English as a Second Language Tutor with over 6 years of experience. I have taught at all levels from beginning to advanced and can help with grammar, vocabulary building, conversation practice and accent reduction.
Lessons are designed around the students individual needs. Generally, I teach grammar along with applied conversation, so that students get a real working knowledge of English. The lessons are dynamic and fun, so that students will learn a great deal as well as have fun doing so. I have a very patient and fun manner and enjoy making people laugh. Materials used are textbooks, website exercises and very often material from everyday life. I suggest to my students that any exposure to English is helpful such as: listening to English on television or radio, reading an English newspaper and engaging in conversation whenever possible. If this is done in addition to lessons, students can learn English more rapidly.
We can meet at a library or coffee shop convenient for both of us. I am located on the northwest side of Chicago, but am willing to travel to downtown Chicago. We can also converse online through Skype. The fees are generally $30 per hour, however I am willing to provide discounts for small groups and when using Skype.
